The race:
The Surf Coast Classic is a single-day race run near the town of Torquay in the region of Victoria, Australia. It is run a few days before the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
The first edition in 2020 was called Race Torquay. The race not run in 2021 and 2022 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2023 it was again not run, this time because it conflicted with Australia's national day, Australia Day.
The race was renamed and run in 2024 as the Surf Coast Classic run in 2024. That edition was won by Eritrean racer Biniam Girmay.
